About the event

This one-hour workshop introduces participants to the fundamentals of hydroponics, a method of growing plants without soil. In our greenhouse setting, participants will learn how hydroponic systems work, explore different types of hydroponic setups, and understand the role of nutrient solutions in plant growth.

The session begins with a brief overview of hydroponics, highlighting its advantages over traditional soil gardening. Participants will then observe a live demonstration of a simple hydroponic system, such as the Kratky method, followed by hands-on activities where they will assemble their own mini hydroponic setups.

Throughout the workshop, participants will explore key concepts like water management, pH levels, and nutrient balance, gaining practical knowledge that they can apply to their own hydroponic projects. The session will conclude with a Q&A, allowing participants to ask questions and discuss how hydroponics can be used in sustainable agriculture.. i.e. when water becomes super expensive!

This workshop is designed to be engaging and informative, providing participants with a solid foundation in hydroponics and sparking their interest in innovative gardening techniques.
